At the last reunion exactly five years ago, 96 years old, he has still shown an active interest in and exerted
influence on the organization and the course of events.
Also unforgettable to all participants was his speech guided by the motto “Rejoicing in hope” taken from
Romans 12:12.

In Memoriam Richard Ding
His joy and curiosity towards genealogical research was
contagious, he was able to find fellow campaigners and motivate
them. How else could the previous family reunions with
participants from all over Germany, Switzerland and the USA have
taken place? Especially the family links to the American emigrants,
to the Palatine Colony in the Brunswick area and of course every
major Ding-family settlement in Germany were of interest to him.
